Overview

A logical extension of Professionnel du vin 1 and Professionnel du vin 2, this program allows you to discover the terroirs and geography of the main wine-producing regions of Central Europe and the New World. This training also introduces you to food and wine pairing, wine list design and cellar management.

  • Includes a total of 104 hours of coursework, spread over 14 weeks on a part-time basis.
  • Classes offered on Mondays and Tuesdays evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Pathways

  • Professionnel du vin 1 is a prerequisite for Professionnel du vin 2 and 3.
  • Professionnel du vin 2 and 3 do not need to be completed in consecutive order.
  • In fact, it is possible to do Professionnel du vin 3 and not do Professionnel du vin 2, and vice versa.  

All students are required to follow certain basic rules regarding professional image.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Have successfully completed the program Professionnel du vin 1
  • Be at least 18 years of age before the course start date
  • Be fluent in oral and written French

  • Places are limited to 24 students per group.
  • Applications are selected on a first come, first served basis according to the date of receipt of the admission application.
  • In the event that the program is full, you will be able to add your name to a waiting list.

International applicants

Admission to this program is conditional on obtaining or possessing a valid status in Canada (visitor’s visa, study permit, work permit, visitor’s record, etc.) for the duration of the program.

Please note that it is not possible to obtain a study permit for this program. In addition, the ITHQ does not provide a letter of invitation for a temporary resident visa (TRV). For more information, we invite you to consult the website of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).

  • Applicants must meet all of the requirements of their chosen program and provide all required documents. Incomplete or late admission application file will be considered ineligible.
  • In order for your file to be considered complete, be sure to upload legible copies of all official documents required by your status in PDF format. 
  • Documents that are not in French or English must be accompanied by an official translation in French or English.

After completing Professionnel du vin 1, 2 and 3, you will be qualified to work in a variety of positions in the restaurant services and wine industry. If you already work in the service field, it will allow you to better advise your customers and to access sommelier positions, with attractive salary prospects. These programs are also a gateway to work in private import agencies.
