ExperiSens

A graduate in food science and technology, Julie Côté is director, project manager and researcher at ExperiSens. 

With over 20 years of experience in Canada and internationally in research and development, sensory analysis and consumer research, Julie has developed a strong expertise in the development of standard methods and processes for trained sensory panels. Her vocational and university background allows her to act as a specialist in multisensory experience.

At ExperiSens, Julie Côté is the leader of the hospitality and sensory environments field of intervention and works on various research projects related to welcoming environments. Julie Côté is also involved in various university and college courses on experience measurement methods. 

With a master’s degree in tourism development from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Émilie Marcil is a research professional at Experisens since 2021.

Her Master’s thesis addresses the issue of affinity grouping during vacations, especially among women. Beyond the question of gender and social relationships during vacations, Émilie is interested in emerging trends in the travel industry, a field in which she has worked for over 17 years. 

Drawing upon her experience as a guide and travel consultant, she remains very close to the tourism stakeholders with the concern for better theorizing their practice, considering the tourist field as a rich environment of knowledge and expertise.

Laëtitia Matrat has been a project supervisor and funding application manager at ExperiSens since 2019. 

With a Master’s degree in cultural enterprise management and a Master’s degree in visual arts, Laëtitia has worked in the cultural and community fields for over 15 years, namely in the development of cultural mediation activities, partnership development and public funding. Among other things, she has actively contributed to the transfer of knowledge by providing training and participating in publications to the professional library science field.

In addition to being in charge of obtaining several grants for innovation projects, Laëtitia Matrat leads many project coordination, reporting, communications and event organization activities at ExperiSens. 

Christiane Papineau is an architect and urban planner.

Having earned a Ph.D. in Engineering, she has worked for several years in the construction industry, as well as being a research professor at the ITHQ and the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS).

She is now Project Supervisor at ExperiSens.

Quentin Sellier holds a PhD in economics and management from UCLouvain (Belgium). During this academic project, he studied the impact of immersive technologies on the customer and user experience. He has conducted numerous research projects using multiple methodologies and analysis methods (interviews, statistics, eye tracking, biometrics, machine learning, etc.), collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and published his work in several renowned scientific journals. 

Prior to this, Quentin graduated with great distinction from the Louvain School of Management (Belgium) with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Business Analysis. He also spent an exchange semester at one of Japan’s top business schools, working as a data analyst. 

He is currently a research professional at ExperiSens, the ITHQ’s CCTT. At the same time, he teaches the Digital Asset Monetization course at HEC Montréal, where he guides undergraduates in the evaluation and valorization of data within organizations.

Andréane Morin-Simard has been a research professional at ExperiSens since 2024.

She holds a master’s degree in film studies from the Université de Montréal, a bachelor’s degree in film studies and comparative literature from the Université de Montréal, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

With over 14 years of experience in the research and teaching fields specializing in the creative industries, Andréane has contributed to a number of research projects at the Université de Montréal’s LUDOV and CinéMédias laboratories, focussing primarily on video games and cinema. As part of her master’s and doctoral studies, she conducted research on the role of music in the experience of narrative and interactive media. She has also taught as a lecturer for the Minor in video game studies at Université de Montréal.

Drawing on her expertise in audiovisual and tactile experiences, Andréane takes a particular interest in the affective and sensory dimensions of the tourist experience.
