Our passion: helping Québec organizations add more Québec products on their plates!
As part of the Stratégie nationale d’achat d’aliments québécois (SNAAQ) of the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), Québec’s public institutions are encouraged to set targets for the purchase of local food.
In order to help them achieve their objectives, the MAPAQ has worked collaboratively with the ITHQ to offer them a free and personalized coaching service.
Who may benefit?
The following public institutions can benefit from this service free of charge:
- Elementary and secondary schools
- Cegeps and universities
- Centres intégrés de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) and Centres intégrés universitaires de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS)
- Hospitals
- Rehabilitation centres
- Long-term care facilities (CHSLD)
- Etc.
What does our support consist of?
Present across Québec, our local procurement consultants are there to share best practices with your teams and help them implement efficient solutions that will allow you to reach your objectives.
Our experts work closely with the procurement and food service managers in your organization.
Once the diagnosis is determined, they will set realistic targets with you and help you develop a detailed action plan to achieve them.
Why should you prioritize local sourcing in your organization?
- To offer better quality products to your clientele
- To encourage local economy and support producers and processors in your area
- To reduce your ecological footprint and preserve biodiversity
- To develop the skills, pride and sense of belonging of your teams
- To develop win-win partnerships with your suppliers
- To enable your organization to have a positive impact on Québec society
How to participate?
At the CISSS of Lanaudière, we were starting from scratch. Thanks to the practical, reassuring, supportive and sympathetic coaching offered by the ITHQ’s local food sourcing consultants, after one year, we are proud to say each and every one of our establishments now has an overall Québec food offering!
