The Charter of the French language and its regulations govern the consultation of English-language content.

Unique identifier

  • Your unique identifier allows you to log in on all platforms used at ITHQ (student portal, Microsoft 365, Outlook, ColNET, Moodle, wireless network, computer workstations, etc.)
  • It is composed of your application number, followed by @ithq.qc.ca (e.g., [email protected]).
  • Your default password is your date of birth (YYYYMMDD). This password will need to be changed the first time you log in to either of these platforms.

Microsoft 365

  • Once your registration at the ITHQ is confirmed, you will be assigned a Microsoft 365 account.
  • This account will give you free access to all Microsoft 365 applications: OneDrive, Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • To access your Microsoft 365 account online: log in to the student portal or on the Microsoft 365 site.
  • To install the Microsoft 365 applications on your personal computer for free, consult the following guide: Guide for Office 365 (in French only)

In order to never lose access to your Microsoft account, you must configure at least one backup authentication method (email address, phone number or security question):

ITHQ email address

  • Once your registration at the ITHQ is confirmed, you will be assigned an Outlook email address.
  • This email address will allow you to communicate with your instructors, colleagues, internship settings, as well as with the various ITHQ departments.
  • Your ITHQ email belongs to you and will remain active even after you graduate.

We strongly recommend that you install the Outlook application on your smartphone in order to have access to your emails at all times:

Messages sent to Outlook are encrypted to protect their confidentiality. However, you should be careful: when using a public computer, be sure to click on “log out” and close your session when you are finished.

Your ITHQ email address is assigned to you so that you can carry out activities related to your studies. You must therefore agree to use your email only for these purposes and not to:

  • Spread or attempt to spread computer viruses.
  • Modify or destroy computer resources without prior authorization.
  • Damage, alter or destroy information (data, documentation or software).
  • Impersonate or attempt to impersonate a user.
  • Attempt to intercept or decrypt information.
  • Process or disseminate information of an obscene, pornographic, discriminatory, racist, hateful or harassing nature, as well as any information detrimental to the ITHQ.

Failure to comply with these terms of use may result in disciplinary or legal action.

Wireless network connection (Wi-Fi)

  • You must have logged in at least once to one of the ITHQ platforms (student portal, Microsoft 365, Moodle or computer workstation) and changed your password in order to access the ITHQ wireless network.
  • Select the eduroam wireless network.
  • Log in with your unique identifier ([email protected]) and password (Microsoft password or, by default, your date of birth YYYYMMDD).
  • Click on “Log in”.
  • If you are using an iPhone or iPad, click on “Trust” to finalize the configuration.
  • If you are using an Android phone or tablet, select “MSCHAPV2” as step 2 authentication and “do not validate” in CA Certificate.

Eduroam access service

  • The Eduroam access service allows both ITHQ students and staff to have secure access to the Internet in all member institutions of the Eduroam federation
  • It also allows people from member institutions of the Eduroam federation to benefit from secure wireless Internet access at the ITHQ.
  • To connect to the Eduroam network of the institution you are visiting (e.g., UQAM), use the same login and password you use at ITHQ to connect to the Wi-Fi.
  • ITHQ visitors who are members of the federation must use their institution’s identifiers to log in.
  • The ITHQ-INVITE wireless network can also be used by individuals who are not eligible to use the Eduroam wireless network.
