Do you work in food services and want to offer more plant-based options to your customers? Thanks to this short online training course, you will learn how to incorporate plant proteins more effectively into your menus, while maintaining the quality and diversity of your food offering. 

This training course was designed by the local food sourcing consulting team of the ITHQ’s hospitality consulting centre, as part of the Stratégie nationale d’achat d’aliments québécois (SNAAQ). 

This training course is intended for:

Objectives

By the end of this training course, you will be able to pinpoint the possibilities of introducing plant-based solutions into your menu along with the advantages of using plant-based proteins in your recipes.  

Content

  • Understanding the need to incorporate more plant-based dishes to your food offering 
  • Demystifying the flexitarian, vegetarian, plant-based and vegan diet  
  • Understanding the 4 main sources of plant proteins and their culinary applications 
  • Learning to substitute plant-based foods for animal-based foods in recipes 
  • Identifying possible plant-based solutions for your menu, while maintaining the variety of your protein choices
