In a landscape where the deployment of advanced technologies in museums is becoming increasingly common, the MAC’s primary objective was to rethink its customer experience.
To achieve this, ExperiSens has targeted the needs, constraints, current technologies, and objectives for implementing new technology in a museum experience through in-depth research in the literature and at renowned international cultural institutions.
The findings confirm that MAC must: prioritize tools that improve accessibility and engagement without complicating the visitor experience; leverage strategic partnerships to benefit from experience feedback; anticipate challenges related to training, maintenance and evaluation for successful implementation; and, finally, align technology with the museum’s mission so that it serves both art and the visitor experience.
