Supervisor eLearning from Emerit delivers the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective supervisor in the Canadian tourism sector.  

Learning content is based on the Supervisor National Occupational Standards, which are developed in consultation with industry experts and practitioners and cover all aspects of working as a professional in the occupation.

What you will learn

This online training course is divided into 8 topics, covering the skills and knowledge required to be an effective supervisor in any tourism work environment. The 8 topics are presented through 17 modules.   

Topics include: 

  • Introduction (1 module) 
  • Developing Your Leadership (3 modules) 
  • Ensuring Effective Communication (2 modules) 
  • Managing Your Team (3 modules) 
  • Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Principles (1 module) 
  • Overseeing Finances (1 module) 
  • Managing Operations (2 modules) 
  • Compliance, Safety and Security (2 modules) 
  • Delivering Excellent Service (2 modules) 

Conditions

  • ​​​6-hour online training program, offered in French or English. 
  • Once all required modules have been completed, learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
