Student interns at Tofino Resort + Marina not only get to learn about the foundations of successful hotel operations, but also get to spend a summer in the beautiful beach town of Tofino, British Columbia on Vancouver Island!

We offer student interns a variety of learning opportunities, expert supervision, and exposure to an international tourism and hospitality market.

Description

-Provide outstanding customer service
-Maintain excellent knowledge of Resort offerings
-Clean hotel rooms daily (sweep + mop floors, deep-clean bathrooms, wipe + sanitize all surfaces, make beds and refresh all linens, restock coffee station, clean windows and outdoor balconies).
-Provide stay-over service (refresh a guest’s room during their stay)
-Clean public areas such as Tuff-Fit gym and the Adventure Centre
-Maintain, clean, and stock housekeeping storage rooms and carts
-Adhere to high company standards in cleanliness and employee etiquette
-Perform laundry service (flipping loads of laundry between the washer + dryer, carefully folding all linens)

Set in the heart of town, on the water, Tofino Resort + Marina is a comfortable and capable base camp for all things adventure. We boast Tofino’s largest private marina, offering moorage for pleasure crafts and yachts up to 130′. Alongside our Marina, you will find our Marine Adventure Centre which offers bear and whale watching tours, fishing charters, hot spring tours, kayaking, and our iconic remote floating sauna and dock.
Guests and team members alike are welcome to use our beautiful gym, Tuff Fit, and get their sweat on while overlooking the stunning harbor. Last but not least, we are ecstatic to welcome Shelter Restaurant to the property!

Profil requis

-Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is an asset
-Willingness to learn and grow within hospitality industry
-Strong communication and organizational skills required
-Ability to work effectively within a team
-Cell phone with Canadian phone plan to communicate with team during work
-Comfortability cleaning pet-friendly rooms

Informations complémentaires :

Our staff houses are family-style detached homes around the town of Tofino. You would be living with a maximum of 5 other team members, and share a kitchen, dining, living, bathroom and laundry space with these people. The houses are fully furnished and contain everything you need to go about your daily lives. All you need to bring are your clothes and any other small personal belongings. Houses contain both shared and private rooms and are based on availability.

Tofino is a small but bustling beach town and everything is within biking distance. If you can see yourself surfing before work, having a beach fire with friends after work, and heading out on a bear watching tour on the weekend-then this is the internship for you!

Commodités : Free shuttle bus runs through Tofino all summer, free on-site laundry, all cookware/utensils/glassware provided, all houses are near local restaurants, bars, skate-park, beaches and hiking trails.
