ITHQ offers a<strong> Recognition of Acquired Competencies <\/strong>(RAC) service leading to the Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inforoutefpt.org\/formation-professionnelle\/diplome-etudes-professionnelles\/5293\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Service de la restauration<\/a> (DEP 5293).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-vortex-blocks-notification-message notification-message-block\"><div class=\"notification-message-block__inner\"><p class=\"notification-message-block__title notification-title\"><strong>Important notice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) process is offered <strong>in French only<\/strong>. It leads to the Service de la restauration diploma (DEP 5293) and not to the Food and Beverage Services diploma (DVS 5793).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is RAC?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>RAC is a process that enables you to obtain <strong>official recognition of the competencies<\/strong> you have acquired during your professional career.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It leads to an <strong>official diploma <\/strong>from the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9ducation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is this approach intended for?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>RAC may be of interest to you if you are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A person working in the food service industry<\/strong> who does not hold a recognized diploma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>An ITHQ student or graduate <\/strong>wishing to add a diploma to their CV.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>An employer<\/strong> wishing to have their staff&#8217;s competencies recognized.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why apply for RAC and what are the benefits?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many reasons to apply for RAC, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Having access to better positions and working conditions<\/strong> within your company (for example, if certain positions or conditions are accessible only to those with a recognized degree)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Upgrading your CV<\/strong> for a job search<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Helping with a change of career orientation<\/strong> or further study (for example, if the qualification is required to be admitted to a program)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the admission requirements for RAC?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To apply for a RAC in Service de la restauration (DEP 5293), you must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have successfully completed your French as a second language and mathematics courses in Secondary 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ithq.qc.ca\/en\/future-students\/required-language-proficiency-for-vocational-and-technical-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proficiency in oral and your competencies in a service situation will take place in person, at the ITHQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your competencies have been assessed, the specialist will draw up a report with their recommendations:<ul><li>If all competencies are recognized, the recommendation will be to <strong>award you the diploma.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If some competencies are still lacking, <strong>additional training<\/strong> will be offered so that you can obtain your diploma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please allow<strong> a minimum of 6 to 8
