class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"aseq\">Health and dental insurance (ASEQ)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Through your student association (AGEE ITHQ), the <a href=\"https:\/\/aseq.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alliance pour la sant\u00e9 \u00e9tudiante au Qu\u00e9bec<\/a> (ASEQ) offers ITHQ students a Canadian <a href=\"https:\/\/aseq.ca\/plan\/en-CA\/wwwsanteetudiantecom_ITHQ\/understanding-my-coverage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health and dental plan<\/a> that includes important benefits not covered by the provincial health insurance plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Opting-out request<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The ASEQ Health and Dental Plan fee is a non-mandatory automatic contribution, which means that <strong>you are automatically invoiced for the insurance fee when you enroll or re-enroll<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you wish to withdraw from the insurance plan or make a change to your coverage,<strong> you must <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aseq.ca\/rte\/en\/wwwsanteetudiantecom_ITHQ_Changementdecouverture_Changezvotrecouverture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>complete an online application on the ASEQ website<\/strong><\/a><strong> within the withdrawal dates that are specified on their website<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To find out about opt out deadlines for coverage and the international students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As an international student, <a href=\"#exemption-request\">unless you qualify for an exemption<\/a>, <strong>you will be automatically and compulsorily insured <\/strong>under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenshield.ca\/en-ca\/student-centre\/international-students-plan-centre-d-acquisitions-gouvernementales-cag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GreenShield<\/a> private insurance option chosen by the ITHQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This health insurance plan offers coverage in Qu\u00e9bec and in the countries where the internships will be carried out (certain conditions may apply).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To find out how much the compulsory insurance will cost, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ithq.qc.ca\/en\/future-students\/program-fee-calculator\/\">Program fee<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ithq.qc.ca\/en\/future-students\/program-fee-calculator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> calculator<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To subscribe to this insurance, you will need to pay the fees indicated in your <a href=\"https:\/\/registrariat.ithq.qc.ca\/colnet\/login.asp?_gl=1*k10vhk*_gcl_au*MTE4OTQ1MTUyMS4xNzE4NjMzMTg2*_ga*MjQ5NTE4MTc1LjE3MTQ2ODIyMjM.*_ga_KSTQYELE2W*MTcyMzA0MDEzNy4yMzAuMS4xNzIzMDQxMTg2LjM4LjAuMA...\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ColNET<\/a> student account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-vortex-blocks-notification-message notification-message-block\"><div class=\"notification-message-block__inner\"><p class=\"notification-message-block__title notification-title\"><strong>Coverage period<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your coverage will begin <strong>on the first day of the month in which your classes start.<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you arrive in Qu\u00e9bec before your insurance coverage begins, <strong>you must take out private insurance of your choice for the period during which you are not covered.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"exemption-request\">Exemption request<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some countries have signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/citizens\/health-insurance\/social-security-agreements-other-countries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social security agreement<\/a> with the Government of Qu\u00e9bec, allowing their nationals to benefit from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/citizens\/health-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qu\u00e9bec health insurance plan<\/a> (RAMQ) for the duration of their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To find out if you can benefit from this agreement, consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/citizens\/health-insurance\/social-security-agreements-other-countries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">list of signatory countries<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are a national of one of the signatory countries and wish to register with the RAMQ, you must obtain the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/fr\/definition\/liste-documents-affiliation-a-securite-sociale-pays-origine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Security affiliation form<\/a> <strong>before leaving your home country.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you arrive in Montr\u00e9al, you must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/citizens\/health-insurance\/register\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply online<\/a> to the R\u00e9gie de l&#8217;assurance maladie du Qu\u00e9bec (RAMQ). The following documents will be required: passport, Certificat d&#8217;acceptation du Qu\u00e9bec (CAQ), proof of school attendance (which you can obtain from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ithq.qc.ca\/en\/current-students\/contact-the-registrars-office\/\">registrar&#8217;s office<\/a>) and Social Security affiliation form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>As a RAMQ beneficiary, you may be exempted from the compulsory health insurance chosen by the ITHQ. <\/strong>To do so, you must send a copy of your RAMQ enrolment letter to the registrar&#8217;s office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-vortex-blocks-notification-message notification-message-block\"><div class=\"notification-message-block__inner\"><p class=\"notification-message-block__title notification-title\"><\/p>\n<p>International students who benefit from the social security agreement<strong> can still choose to subscribe to the compulsory private insurance rather than registering with the RAMQ.<\/strong> If this is the case, there is no need to contact the RAMQ.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
