Use of personal information

An Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (R.S.Q., chapter A-2.1, article 65) protects the confidentiality of information provided by students to the Institut de tourisme de d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and recorded in their files during their studies. This information will only be used for the purposes of managing their academic files.

Students who would like to consult their personal file should go to the ITHQ's Registrariat.

Disclosure of personal information

The ITHQ is authorized to disclose personal information, which is needed to manage students' files and to certify their studies, to the ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur and to service providers of the Registrariat and of the Service des stages. Upon request and only for the above-mentioned purposes, the ITHQ may also disclose the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, dates of birth, courses taken at the ITHQ and student status to the following organizations:

  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the ministère de l’immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI), for the purposes of the Service des stages and off-campus work programs;
  • Financial assistance organizations, for the purposes of identifying and recommending candidates for scholarships or confirming student status;
  • Governmental organizations that subsidize students from outside Québec or that grant these students permits for their stay in Québec, for the purposes of confirming their status;
  • All concerned ministries, for the purposes of confirming the status of students who benefit from the programs and measures of the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale du Québec (MESS).

Except for minors, anyone who does not want their personal information to be disclosed should go to the Registrariat and fill out a declaration form before the end of the registration period of each session. For minors, only parents and guardians are authorized to make this request.
