Protection of Personal Information

The Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec takes all necessary precautions to protect the confidentiality of all the personal information it gathers and acts according to the provisions of the Law on Access to Public Service Documents and the Protection of Personal Information.

In conformity with this law, the ITHQ must advise you that if you make an on-line purchase, only information which is necessary for the transaction will be gathered. Furthermore, failure to provide such information could lead to a cancellation of the requested service.

Only authorized personnel may have access to your personal information, but only when it is related to their tasks and duties.

Advanced security softwares, administrative instructions as well as activities which promote awareness and vigilance among our staff all ensure the confidentiality of personal information.

This information may, without your consent, be disclosed for purposes provided for in the law and may also be used in statistics, studies, polls, surveys or verifications.

You have the right to access and rectify your personal information by contacting the coordinator for access to personal information of the ITHQ.

Information Security

Your on-line transactions are protected according to SSL norms.

The information about you, notably information related to your credit card, is transmitted in a form of electronic communication which is numerically encrypted to guarantee the confidentiality of the transmitted data. Consequently this communication cannot be intercepted, altered or decoded by any outside intermediary.

As for credit card payments, they are processed directly by Desjardins. The ITHQ doesn’t keep the complete number of the card, the expiration date or the security code. That is why it is necessary to submit your credit information with each new transaction.

Online Purchase: Cancellation and Reimbursement

The purchase of online training can be cancelled and reimbursed if the following conditions are met:

  1. The cancellation request is received by the ITHQ within 10 days following the purchase of the training;
  2. The user has not started the training.

Note: If an agreement between an employer and ITHQ contains provisions different from the preceding ones, those provided in the original agreement take precedence.
