Eligibility

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age before the courses begin
  • Have a good basic knowledge of the wine industry
  • Be sufficiently fluent in spoken and written English

Notes:

  • Spots are limited to 24 students per group. Students are chosen on a priority basis according to their order of registration. If the program is full, you can add your name to the waiting list.
  • It is strongly recommended to have completed the program WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines before enrolling in Level 3.

Cancellation

  • Tuition fees are fully refundable if students cancel their registration 10 business days before the first day of the term.
  • Tuition fees will be refunded minus a 25% administrative fee if students cancel their registration less than 10 business days before the first day of the term.  
  • No refunds will be granted after this date. 
  • The ITHQ reserves the right to cancel a course or program due to insufficient enrolment. In such cases, application and tuition fees are refunded.

Notes:

  • Fees include lecture notes, wine samples and WSET® course materials (including examination and postage).
  • All amounts are in Canadian dollars.
  • All amounts listed can changed without noticed.
  • Employers subject to the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition are entitled to submit the cost of this training program as part of the 1% of total payroll that companies must invest in employee training.

Financial aid

Scholarship for sommelier training:

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET®), in collaboration with the International Wine Challenge (IWC) offers students the opportunity to apply for a scholarship covering up to 20% of their tuition fees. However, to be eligible for the scholarship, students must be registered in the WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines program and must have successfully completed the WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines program.
