Learn what it takes to run a tourism project from A to Z

Do you have insatiable curiosity and a knack for customer service? Are you a resourceful travel companion who loves to plan trips and excursions? Then tourism is your calling! However, going from occasional travel bug to seasoned tourism professional requires a wide range of skills.

Offered as an alternating work-study, the ITHQ’s Tourism Techniques program will help you gain an in-depth understanding of the tourism industry. The goal is to make you a versatile professional who can develop and manage all aspects of a tourism product or service, from communications and partnership development to market release and budget management. After taking this program, you’ll be able to provide your clients with comprehensive and high-quality tourism experiences and find that your expertise is in demand both in Quebec and around the world.

This unique training includes:

  • Multiple management courses (budgeting, sales & marketing, human resource management, etc.)
  • Two courses on event planning
  • English language and culture courses complemented with an English immersion internship outside Quebec
  • Lessons in a third language in the field of tourism
  • Two customer service internships to give you as much practical experience as possible

French is the language of instruction for ITHQ programs, with the exception of WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines and Level 3 Award in Wines (English only), Montréal Tourist Guide and Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management (bilingual: French and English).
