ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

This program is for students and professionals from all walks of life. Note that this part-time program is not available to international students.

For applicants who have completed post-secondary studies in Quebec:

  • old a college diploma (DCS – R-Score cut-off of 24) that includes a course in math or accounting
    OR
    have completed at least 10 university-level curses (30 credits) before beginning the program and have completed a course in math or accounting
  • Have a good command of the spoken and written languages of instruction (required language tests: level C1).

For applicants who have received their education in another Canadian province:

  • Have a degree issued by a recognized educational institution outside of Quebec after at least 12 years of education or the equivalent
  • Have completed the first year of a university program. A minimum of 15 credits required for post-secondary education at the university level.
  • Have completed at least one post-secondary Math or Accounting course.
  • Have a good command of the spoken and written languages of instruction (required language tests: level C1).

For applicants who have received education outside Canada:

  • Hold a diploma issued by a recognized educational institution that is equivalent to a diploma of college studies or university degree and that includes a course in advanced mathematics or accounting.
    OR
    Have completed one academic year that included an advanced Math or Accounting course.
  • Have a good command of the spoken and written languages of instruction (required language tests: level C1).

Based on professional experience (with or without management experience)

  • Be at least 21 years old when starting the program.
  • Have a minimum of one year of management experience in the hospitality sector. Applicants without management experience must also submit a portfolio Fichier pdf (79 KB) with their application.
  • Have a good command of the spoken and written languages of instruction (required language tests: level C1).

  • Important : If you apply for late admission, you must submit your language test results before the end of the late admission period. 

     
  • Applicants who meet all of the admission requirements and who only need to pass the language tests to complete their application may be granted conditional admission upon the submission of their test results no later than 6 weeks after the admission deadline.
  • Applicants who meet all of the admission requirements except for the mathematics or accounting course may take this course in the first session of their program. Full admission will be conditional upon the completion of this requirement within the timeframe prescribed by the registrar’s office.
  • The registrar may grant conditional admission within prescribed time limits for atypical candidate profiles.

  • You cannot submit a request to have your academic credits recognized until after you have been formally accepted into the program.

Cancellation

  • Tuition fees are fully refundable if students cancel their registration 10 business days before the first day of the term.
  • Tuition fees will be refunded minus a 25% administrative fee if students cancel their registration less than 10 business days before the first day of the term.  
  • No refunds will be granted after this date. 
  • The ITHQ reserves the right to cancel a course or program due to insufficient enrolment. In such cases, application and tuition fees are refunded.

Notes:

  • Tuition fees can be paid in installments.
  • Registration fees include administrative services, student association fees, a voluntary contribution to the ITHQ Foundation and civil liability insurance.
  • Fees for internships and compulsory educational activities (including airfare, visa(s), accommodation, etc.) are the responsibility of students.
  • Students may have additional expenses, i.e., to purchase books and course notes.
  • Tuition fees for French and francophone Belgian citizens are the same as for Canadian residents who are not residents of Quebec. However, these students must pay the same new file charge as for all international students.
  • A fee of $50 applies for a comparative evaluation of studies done outside Quebec, if required.
  • All fees are in Canadian dollars.
  • The amounts indicated are subject to change without notice.
  • Employers subject to the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition are entitled to submit the cost of this training program as part of the 1% of total payroll that companies must invest in employee training.
