Candidates must meet each requirement of their chosen program and provide all required documents. Incomplete or late applications will be considered inadmissible. After the application process, candidates may be asked to come to a selection interview.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Fill out the online application.
  • Pay the new file charge of $35 or $85 depending on your place of residence (non-refundable amount; see Accepted payment methods section).

NOTES:

  • You must pay the new file charge when you submit your application online.
  • With your application, you will need to submit the required documents in a digital format (PDF).
  • The admissions platform allows you to submit documents required for your application review.

DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT

When you submit your application online, you must also submit the documents that the ITHQ requires to review your application (if you cannot submit these documents online, please see other options for sending documents in the section Sending accompanying documents with your application):

  • A copy of your birth certificate issued by the Office of the Registrar of Civil Status of your country of origin.
  • Canadian residents born outside of Canada must also provide a copy of the front and back of their Canadian citizenship certificate OR their permanent resident card. They must also provide a copy of their Quebec selection certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec or CSQ) and of their Quebec health insurance card (RAMQ), if applicable.
  • A copy of your French and English language proficiency test results or proof of exemption. Refer to the tables below for more information:

Application based on previous education:

Graduate studies done in Quebec:

  • Your last transcript from your CEGEP or university program.
  • Any certificates or diplomas you have obtained.

Studies done outside Quebec:

  • Full report cards or transcripts for the last three years of studies before the university. If you are an international student, consult the Guide to education levels for the general admission of non-Quebec applicants (French only) to find out the level of the Quebec system that your studies are equivalent to.
  • Complete report cards or university transcripts.
  • Any certificates or diplomas you have obtained.

Application based on professional experience:

Certificates of employment attesting to work experience that is relevant to the program (note that a resume is not an official certificate of employment). Certificates of employment must be on company letterhead and include the following information:

  • Position held
  • Brief description of your tasks
  • Period of employment (start and end dates)
  • Number of work hours accumulated during this period
  • Type of business (hotel, restaurant or other), contact information and employer’s signature

Applicants without management experience must also submit a portfolio Fichier pdf (79 KB).

Any college or university transcripts, if applicable, even if you have not yet completed the program.

NOTES:

  • All documents provided must be official, legible, and identical to the original (do not send the originals).
  • Documents that are not in French or English must be accompanied by an official translation in French or English.
