DESCRIPTION
Level up your managerial skills
The Certificate in Hospitality Management and Customer Experience Design is a bilingual program of 10 courses (30 credits) from the Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management. Offered on a full-time or part-time basis, this certificate will give you the real-world professional knowledge you need to plan, design and implement an authentic and memorable hospitality service for the customer.
This program will help you develop your vision of hospitality processes in their entirety and that accounts for their physical, material, operational, budgetary and perceptual aspects. You will also hone your leadership and interpersonal skills through many applied learning activities.

In addition to this program, the ITHQ offers 3 short specialized programs in hospitality management and an Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management.
Diploma
After successfully completing all courses of the program, you will be awarded an undergraduate certificate in Hospitality Management and Customer Experience Design recognized by the ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur du Québec.

COURSES
The Certificate in Hospitality Management and Customer Experience Design consists of 30 credits (10 courses).

- INN2102 Innovation and the Hospitality Industry
- GOP2103 Security Management and Engineering in the Hospitality Industry
- MNG3104 Revenue Management and E-commerce in the Hospitality Industry
- ACC3102 Quality and Client Experience
- MKG2101 Product and Services Marketing Business
- STI2000 Performance and Information Systems
- ACC4103 Current Topics and Issues in the Hospitality Industry

Notes:
- Some courses may not be offered every session.
- Each course lasts 45 hours.
- The ITHQ reserves the right to offer courses in French or English based on instructor availability. Note that approximately 50% of our courses are offered in French and 50% are offered in English.
DRESS CODE
- All students must adhere to certain basic professional image rules.
- Business attire is required at all times.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Note that international students must be enrolled full-time (and not part-time) to get a visa.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be able to speak and write the languages of instruction (English and French) at an advanced intermediate level (level B2). Refer to the tables below for more information:
- Exemption criteria for language tests
- Language tests recognized by the ITHQ and required scores
- Have successfully completed at least one post-secondary Math or Accounting course.
You must also meet one of the following conditions:
- Have a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) with an R-Score cut-off of 24
OR - Have successfully completed university-level courses with content deemed appropriate for the program and totalling at least 15 credits, with a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.3, or the equivalent
OR - Have obtained a diploma outside Quebec after at least 13 years of schooling
OR - Be at least 21 years of age, have the appropriate knowledge, have at least 1 year of relevant experience (minimum of 1700 hrs), and have stopped your full-time studies for at least 2 sessions, excluding the summer session
Notes:
- Candidates who did their studies outside Quebec: To find out the degree generally required based on the country where you studied, consult the Guide des niveaux de formation pour l'admission générale des candidats non québécois (French only, for reference only).
- You must have your eligible Math or Accounting credit certified before the start of the second session of your program.

Cancellation
- Tuition fees are fully refundable if students cancel their registration 10 business days before the first day of the term.
- Tuition fees will be refunded minus a 25% administrative fee if students cancel their registration less than 10 business days before the first day of the term.
- No refunds will be granted after this date.
- The ITHQ reserves the right to cancel a course or program due to insufficient enrolment. In such cases, application and tuition fees are refunded.
Notes:
- Tuition fees can be paid in installments.
- Registration fees include administrative services, student association fees, a voluntary contribution to the ITHQ Foundation and civil liability insurance.
- Fees for internships and compulsory educational activities (including airfare, visa(s), accommodation, etc.) are the responsibility of students.
- Students may have additional expenses, i.e., to purchase books and course notes.
- Tuition fees for French and francophone Belgian citizens are the same as for Canadian residents who are not residents of Quebec. However, these students must pay the same new file charge as for all international students.
- A fee of $50 applies for a comparative evaluation of studies done outside Quebec, if required.
- All fees are in Canadian dollars.
- The amounts indicated are subject to change without notice.
- Employers subject to the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition are entitled to submit the cost of this training program as part of the 1% of total payroll that companies must invest in employee training.
FINANCIAL AID
Student financial aid (reserved for Quebec residents) is available under the Loans and Bursaries Program of the ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur.
Various financial institutions offer a student line of credit service for candidates admitted to this program.
Candidates must meet each requirement of their chosen program and provide all required documents. Incomplete or late applications will be considered inadmissible. After the application process, candidates may be asked to come to a selection interview.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE

- Pay the new file charge of $35 or $85 depending on your place of residence (non-refundable amount; see Accepted payment methods section).

- With your application, you will need to submit the required documents in a digital format (PDF).
- The admissions platform allows you to submit documents required for your application review.
DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT
When you submit your application online, you must also submit the documents that the ITHQ requires to review your application (if you cannot submit these documents online, please see other options for sending documents in the section Sending accompanying documents with your application):
- A copy of your birth certificate issued by the Office of the Registrar of Civil Status of your country of origin.
- Canadian residents born outside of Canada must also provide a copy of the front and back of their Canadian citizenship certificate OR their permanent resident card. They must also provide a copy of their Quebec selection certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec or CSQ) and of their Quebec health insurance card (RAMQ), if applicable.
- A copy of your French and English language proficiency test results or proof of exemption. Refer to the tables below for more information:
Application based on previous education:
Graduate studies done in Quebec:
- Your last transcript from your CEGEP or university program.
- Any certificates or diplomas you have obtained.
Studies done outside Quebec:
- Full report cards or transcripts for the last three years of studies before the university. If you are an international student, consult the Guide to education levels for the general admission of non-Quebec applicants (French only) to find out the level of the Quebec system that your studies are equivalent to.
- Complete report cards or university transcripts.
- Any certificates or diplomas you have obtained.
Application based on professional experience:
Certificates of employment attesting to work experience that is relevant to the program (note that a resume is not an official certificate of employment). Certificates of employment must be on company letterhead and include the following information:
- Position held
- Brief description of your tasks
- Period of employment (start and end dates)
- Number of work hours accumulated during this period
- Type of business (hotel, restaurant or other), contact information and employer’s signature
Applicants without management experience must also submit a portfolio 
(79 KB).
Any college or university transcripts, if applicable, even if you have not yet completed the program.
NOTES:
- All documents provided must be official, legible, and identical to the original (do not send the originals).
- Documents that are not in French or English must be accompanied by an official translation in French or English.
