Master the art of hospitality for a promising career

The ITHQ is launching the very first Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management (BAMgt). This bilingual work-study program will open the door to a management career in different hospitality sectors: accommodation, food and beverage services, commercial recreational activities, travel and transportation, conferences and attractions, and more!

What sets this program apart:

  • Training focused on managing the customer and employee experience
  • Practice-based teaching: management simulations, meetings with professionals in the field, visits with industry partners, etc.
  • Equal number of courses offered in English and French
  • Practical courses at the ITHQ’s hotel and restaurants
  • Two internships, including an international placement
  • Over 1300 hours of practical industry experience

What is hospitality?

Hospitality is the practice of creating a space for human interactions that promotes well-being through physical environments as well as behaviours and attitudes that are focused on the customer or the employee.

Goals

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Hold management positions in a wide range of hospitality sectors: accommodation, food service, leisure, travel and transportation, and conventions and attractions  
  • Demonstrate the soft skills required for hospitality management, particularly in high-end environments
  • Understand and be able to align themselves with an organization’s strategic orientations
  • Have a global vision of the company to define short-, medium- and long-term goals for their department
  • Effectively manage their department’s operations in coordination with the company’s other services
  • Analyze complex problems, recommend and implement innovative solutions related to human, material and financial management that are specific to the hospitality industry
  • Understand and manage information resources in a secure, confidential and useful way
  • Act in an ethical and socially responsible way in the community
  • Function effectively in a context of diversity
  • Develop your skills and advance your career

RELATED TRAINING

In addition to the Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management (94 credits), the ITHQ offers 4 short specialized programs in hospitality management.

JOINT TRAINING

If you have a DCS from the ITHQ, you can access the Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management and get your university degree in 2 years instead of 3 (some conditions apply)

Diploma

After successfully completing all courses and internships of the program, you will be awarded an undergraduate degree in Applied management (BAMgt) – recognized by the ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur du Québec.
