Preparatory training for the Hautes Études en gestion hôtelière internationale/Advanced Studies in International Hotel Management (ASIHM) Program lets applicants who do not have the required academic requirements or prior experience get the necessary foundation knowledge and skills to take this post-secondary program.
This 8-month program has the following goals:
Block 1: 15 weeks of full-time courses (from the 3rd week of January to the 3rd week of May)
Session total: 420 hours, 28 hours per week
Block 2: Operations internship* full time for 12 weeks at a hotel in Quebec, Canada, or France (beginning of June to the end of August).
*Paid or unpaid, depending on the standards of the country where the internship is done.
To be eligible for the preparatory training, the candidate must have a CEGEP diploma or the equivalent.*
* An equivalent is considered to be the French Baccalaureate (in literature, economic and social sciences or science and math).
DRESS CODE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Students must wear a professional uniform or the ITHQ’s classic attire at all times during courses and internships. All students are required to comply with basic rules for maintaining a professional image in addition to the dress code requirements.
Students are given an attestation that they have passed the preparatory training for the ASIHM Program.
*Once students pass the preparatory training, a deduction of $1,500 will be applied to the first installment of the program tuition costs.
Ancillary costs and tuition will be reimbursed minus administrative costs of 25% if you cancel your registration before the first day of the training. After this deadline, no reimbursement will be given.
