In all its housekeeping activities, the Hôtel de l’ITHQ uses innovative biotechnology products made by  InnuScience Canada inc.

… and food production!

In the summer of 2013, the ITHQ set up a beehive on its roof to house 5,000 bees, enough to produce between 30 and 50 kg of honey each season. To ensure the project's success, the ITHQ has enlisted the services of the Québec firm Alvéole, which installed and maintains the hive to harvest pesticide-free honey that is as local as you can get. A portion of the harvest will be given to the Restaurant de l’ITHQ.

• Paper, cardboard, plastic and glass recycling bins in all rooms and at all employee work stations
• Participation in the Clean the World program to recycle partially used soap and amenity bottles
• Ecologo-certified cleaning products sourced from biotechnology
• Ecologo-certified chlorine-free facial tissues and toilet paper
• Sheets and towels changed every two days, at the guest’s request
• Water-saving devices installed on toilets and faucets
• Smart hoods and induction cooktops used in the Restaurant de l’ITHQ kitchen
• Composting
• Cloth tablecloths and napkins used in the dining room
• Recycling of empty Nespresso capsules
• Leftover food donated to La Maison du Père on a regular basis
