About the Institute /
Welcome to the ITHQ : Sommellerie signature program Wine and Spirit Certificate

An ITHQ Signature Program enhanced by the excellent reputation of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, a world-renowned training institution.

For a truly international overview of the wine and spirit industry, in 2009, the ITHQ will be offering for the first time a leading-edge program in English: Wine and Spirit Certificate.

This program offers a two-fold challenge to hotel and restaurant industry professionals, sommelier students and wine enthusiasts: to meet the ITHQ’s rigorous standards and increase their wine and spirit knowledge in the language of Shakespeare.

Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive an ITHQ Wine and Spirit Certificate, which will allow you to take the examination of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), a British training institution which is the leading authority in the wine world. Upon successful completion of this exam, which is offered at the ITHQ, students will receive the WSET’s Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits.

Unique in Québec, this completely new program will improve the skills of those who already work in this field. It may also be your first step towards Master of Wine (MW) certification, the world’s most prestigious title in the sommelier profession.
