Unique in North America, this new bilingual advanced training program in international hotel management offers an educational model comparable to that of major European hotel schools. That's no surprise, since the ITHQ is a member of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World, an organization consisting of the very best hotel schools and universities worldwide that offer advanced studies in hotel management.
Developed after consulting with global leaders in the hotel industry, it reflects key market trends and meets current requirements in the international hotel sector.

| PROGRAM OVERVIEW |
- Bilingual (English-French), unique program in North America, which takes a fresh look at the global hotel industry and takes into account the cultural characteristics of all clients.
- Work-study format over an uninterrupted two-year period, including two paid internships (in French and English) at upscale institutions: the first internship in Canada, and the second one abroad.
- Thanks to an exclusive ITHQ North American educational collaboration, students do internships at some prestigious Relais & Châteaux.
- In-depth examination of all aspects of hotel operations: development engineering, use of information technologies, marketing and financial management, to name just a few.
- Courses that are genuinely tailored to industry: performance management, work relations, revenue optimization, decision-making and managerial skills, etc.

TRAINING |
|
This program has four terms:
The first and third terms are devoted to theoretical and practical concepts, while the second and fourth terms consist of several online courses, which are complementary to the six-month paid internships at an upscale Canadian or international hotel chain.
In addition to key business management concepts– management, marketing, management strategies, legal and financial aspects of hotel activities, etc. –ASIHM will enable you to acquire practical skills directly related to the hospitality industry.
Behaviour and people skills are also covered in the program in order to help you acquire the human skills of an effective and respected business leader. Lastly, the content is enhanced through the development of creativity and entrepreneurship, as well as the ability to innovate and demonstrate strategic vision.
Without a doubt, by the end of your two years of intensive training with the ITHQ's experienced teachers, guest instructors and industry leaders, you will be a much sought-after administrator, capable of anticipating the rapidly changing demands and needs of the international hotel industry.

| COURSES |
A total duration of 1,350 hours, in addition to two six-month internships, the Advanced Studies in International Hotel Management ITHQ Signature program requires a major commitment. It aims at developing four specific areas of competence:
- Behaviour and people skills;
- Leadership within Hotel Enterprises;
- Operations Engineering for Hotels and Food Service;
- Hotel Operations Management.
The first and third term courses are held during the day, while the second and fourth term courses are offered online. Internships are offered based on flexible schedules, often including summer months, evenings or weekends.
First term: The Hotel Manager and the Business
Second term: First internship - The Canadian Hotel Industry
Third term: Hotel Managers and Stakeholders
Fourth term: Second internship – Foreign Companies

The ITHQ Foundation awards $10,000 academic scholarships to ASIHM students who meet certain criteria.

| ELIGIBILITY |
|
This program is intended for both students and professionals throughout the world. To be eligible, you must nevertheless meet the following criteria:
On the basis of successfully completed studies in Québec:
- Have a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or University degree, including one mathematics course (103, 105, 106, 107, 109, 112, 113, 122, 171, 203, 237, 300, 302, 307, 337 or 712), or any other collegial math course, or the equivalent (minimum R rating required: 25);
- Be proficient in written and spoken French and English (language skill evaluation tests* required for both languages, according to the candidates' language of study).
On the basis of successfully completed studies in another Canadian province:
- Have a diploma issued by an institution outside Québec after at least 13 years of studies or the equivalent, and have successfully completed one year of university studies, including the required mathematics course, ** with a minium B- average;
- Be proficient in written and spoken French and English (language skill evaluation tests* required for both languages, according to the candidates' language of study).
On the basis of successfully completed studies outside Canada:
- Hold a diploma equivalent to a Diploma of College Studies or University degree (French or international baccalaureate, or other university diploma) issued by a recognized institution and including an advanced mathematics course;
- Be proficient in written and spoken French and English (language skill evaluation tests* required for both languages, according to the candidates' language of study).
On the basis of experience:
Candidates who do not meet the stipulated admission requirements but who have program-relevant professional experience are invited to contact us so that we may analyze their particular case and potential program eligibility.
*Language tests: For more details, please consult the Admission page. **For students from Ontario: 6 grade 12 U or M courses, including the course MHF Advanced Functions; For students from other provinces: any advanced mathematics courses.
Interview
All selected candidates will be called for an admission interview (face-to-face or distance) in order to evaluate their work experience and level of motivation for a career in international hotel management.
Mathematics and language requirements for all candidates:
Candidates who do not meet the mathematics or language requirements will need to have successfully completed the following (as applicable) before registering for the second term of the program:
- One of the following mathematics courses: 103, 105,106, 107, 109, 112, 113, 122, 171, 203, 237, 300, 302, 307, 337, 712, or any other collegial math course, or an equivalent course;
A language upgrade course in French or English.

|
After successfully completing all courses in this program, you will receive an Advanced Studies in International Hotel Management ITHQ Signature diploma and a Leading Hotel Schools of the World diploma.

For all students Please note that students must pay for the costs associated with internships and compulsory activities (including airplane tickets, visa(s), living expenses, etc.). Lastly, there are additional costs to purchase books and lecture notes.
Cancellation The incidental fees are payable for each term of the program and are refundable, minus a $20 penalty, on the condition that you cancel your registration before the first day of courses (no refund thereafter).
