DOCUMENTS TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE ADMISSION APPLICATION

  • The duly completed and signed Admission Application form. Please clearly indicate the chosen program.
  • Photocopy of the candidate's birth certificate or register of civil status. Candidates who are residents in Canada but who were born outside the country must provide an official photocopy of their certificate of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence.
  • Application fees, which vary according to the candidate's status: Québec residents ($35), Canadians living outside the province of Québec ($75), and international candidates ($75).

    These amounts are all non-refundable. Refer to the methods of payment accepted.

  • Photocopy of the most recent college or university transcript, as applicable, issued by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport or the educational institution attended. Candidates who have studied outside Canada* must provide a copy of their most recent transcripts and diplomas in an official French translation, along with a photocopy of their Comparative Evaluation for Studies Done Outside Québec. In order to obtain an official attestation of your comparative evaluation, contact the Centre d'expertise sur les formations acquises hors du Québec of the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles:

*Candidates who have a French bachelor's degree are exempt from the requirement to submit a Comparative Evaluation for Studies Done Outside Québec, by virtue of the Accord-cadre franco-québécois sur la reconnaissance des diplômes et la validation des études.

Please note that all photocopies submitted must be true and legible; do not send originals.

  • Candidate's results from their French and English language skills evaluation (consult the Language Tests table).
  • Two recommendation letters signed by an employer or any other individuals who are not related to the candidates, demonstrating the candidate's motivation for applying to the program.
  • Proof of employment attesting to the candidate's relevant work experience for the program, where applicable. Please note that a résumé is not considered official proof of employment. The proof provided must include the following information:

      - position held;
      - employment period (start and end dates);
      - number of working hours accumulated during this period;
      - type of business (hotel, restaurant or other);
      - institution's contact information and employer's signature.

ACT TO PROMOTE WORKFORCE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND RECOGNITION (BILL 90)

All of the ITHQ's continuing education programs meet the requirements of the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition (previously referred as "Bill 90"). Their cost may therefore be included in the 1% payroll that businesses are required to invest in training. Don't forget to mention this to your employer!

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Use of personal information

The Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (R.S.Q., chapter A-2.1, article 65) protects the confidentiality of information provided by students to the Institut de tourisme de d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and recorded in their files during their studies.

This information will only be used for the purposes of managing their academic files.

Students who would like to consult their personal file should go to the ITHQ's Registrariat.

Disclosure of personal information

The ITHQ is authorized to disclose personal information, which is needed to manage students' files and to certify their studies, to the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport and to service providers of the Registrariat and of the Service des stages. Upon request and only for the above-mentioned purposes, the ITHQ may also disclose the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, dates of birth, courses taken at the ITHQ and student status to the following organizations:

  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec (MICC), for the purposes of the Service des stages and off-campus work programs;
  • Financial assistance organizations, for the purposes of identifying and recommending candidates for scholarships or confirming student status;
  • Governmental organizations that subsidize students from outside Québec or that grant these students permits for their stay in Québec, for the purposes of confirming their status;
  • All concerned ministries, for the purposes of confirming the status of students who benefit from the programs and measures of the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale du Québec (MESS).

Except for minors, anyone who does not want their personal information to be disclosed should go to the Registrariat and fill out a declaration form before the end of the registration period of each session. For minors, only parents and guardians are authorized to make this request.
