  • SUBMISSION OF THE ADMISSION APPLICATION

  • In person at the Registrariat (Registrar’s office) located on the first floor of the ITHQ (Sherbrooke subway station) from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. Please note that the Registrar’s Office is closed on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Use of personal information

An Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (R.S.Q., chapter A-2.1, article 65) protects the confidentiality of information provided by students to the Institut de tourisme de d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and recorded in their files during their studies. This information will only be used for the purposes of managing their academic files.

Students who would like to consult their personal file should go to the ITHQ’s Registrariat.

Disclosure of personal information

The ITHQ is authorized to disclose personal information, which is needed to manage students’ files and to certify their studies, to the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport and to service providers of the Registrariat and of the Service des stages. Upon request and only for the above-mentioned purposes, the ITHQ may also disclose the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, dates of birth, courses taken at the ITHQ and student status to the following organizations:

  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec (MICC), for the purposes of the Service des stages and off-campus work programs; 
  • Financial assistance organizations, for the purposes of identifying and recommending candidates for scholarships or confirming student status;  
  • Governmental organizations that subsidize students from outside Québec or that grant these students permits for their stay in Québec, for the purposes of confirming their status;
  • All concerned ministries, for the purposes of confirming the status of students who benefit from the programs and measures of the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale du Québec (MESS).

Except for minors, anyone who does not want their personal information to be disclosed should go to the Registrariat and fill out a declaration form before the end of the registration period of each session. For minors, only parents and guardians are authorized to make this request.

DOCUMENTS TO INCLUDE IN THE ADMISSION FILE

  • The admission application* Demande d’admission from the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) (Greater Montreal Regional Admissions Service), along with all the required documents and registration fees.
  • A certificate of employment attesting to the applicant’s professional experience relevant to the program, if applicable. Please note that resumes are not considered to be official certificates of employment. The certificate must include the following information:
    -    position held;
    -    period of employment (beginning and end dates);
    -    number of working hours accumulated during this period;
    -    type of establishment (hotel, restaurant or other);
    -    contact information of the establishment and signature of the employer.
  • A letter of motivation from applicants describing their knowledge of the selected curriculum and trade.

  • The admission application Demande d’admission (PDF – French only) duly completed and signed. Clearly indicate the program you are selecting.
  • A photocopy of your birth certificate or civil status. Applicants residing in Canada but who were born abroad must provide an official photocopy of their Canadian citizenship or permanent residence certificate.
  • A $35 fee applies to Canadian or permanent resident applicants. This non-refundable fee is for opening the admission file and can be paid by certified cheque, money order, Visa or MasterCard. Personal cheques will not be accepted.
  • A photocopy of the last secondary or college education transcript, whichever applies, issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation (MEQ) or by the last educational institution attended. Students who studied outside Canada must provide a copy of their marks (transcript and diplomas) as well as a photocopy of their academic equivalences.
  • The certificate of evaluation of oral English knowledge, issued by Téluq (Quebec Correspondance Course University).
  • A certificate of employment attesting to the applicant’s professional experience relevant to the program, if applicable. Please note that resumes are not considered to be official employment certificates. The certificate must include the following information:
    -    position held;
    -    period of employment (beginning and end dates);
    -    number of working hours accumulated during this period;
    -    type of establishment (hotel, restaurant or other);
    -    contact information of the establishment and signature of the employer.
