Collection agent representatives must pass an exam in order to work in this field in Québec. The ITHQ’s Centre d’expertise is responsible for administering this exam to obtain a collection agent representative certificate from the Office de la protection du consommateur. This government body is responsible for ensuring the application of the Act respecting the collection of certain debts and its attendant regulation.

The Centre d'expertise is responsible for administering the exam to obtain the certificate from the OPC.
The exam consists of 51 questions. The passing grade is 75%.

Applicants must register for an exam session online. No phone or email registrations will be accepted.
Exam results
To view your score on the exam, enter your file number (it begins with CAR) and your password. Results are available 10 business days after the date of the exam.
Certificate
The certificates are issued by the Office de la protection du consommateur.
